The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), in partnership with Volleyball World, has officially awarded the China Volleyball Association the hosting rights for the 2026 AVC Beach Volleyball Continental Championships, scheduled for 2 to 6 September 2026. The host city of Shangluo, China, will serve as a crucial qualification pathway for athletes vying for a spot in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The selection of Shangluo comes on the heels of an unprecedented 2025 season that demonstrated massive growth and enthusiasm for the sport across the Asian region. Ramon Suzara, President of the AVC, highlighted this rapid expansion: "The sheer volume of activity in 2025—with 48 of our National Federations participating across 29 AVC and FIVB events—proves that Asia is becoming the global epicenter for beach volleyball. Coming off the incredible success of the World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, awarding this crucial Olympic qualification tournament to China ensures we keep that incredible momentum going right into 2026."

The AVC also extends its appreciation to Mr. Craig Carracher, Chairman of the AVC Beach Volleyball Committee, for his leadership throughout the bidding process in selecting Shangluo as the host city.

As the focus now shifts to Shangluo in 2026, the AVC extends its gratitude to all National Federations for their continuous dedication. The upcoming Continental Championships promise to deliver world-class competition as the road to LA 2028 officially gets underway.
