Bryl/Łosiak (POL) vs. Arthur/Adrielson (BRA) - Pool C #38774267

The Europeans didn't drop a single set on Friday

The 2025 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour season didn’t start well for Polish Olympians Michal Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak, who dropped their first match in the Quintana Roo Elite on Thursday, but the Europeans responded in a strong way and won two in a row on Friday to move forward in the Mexican event.

The two, who combine for five Olympic appearances, were among the six teams that won their Round of 18 matches at the Playa del Carmen and are now set to face the six pool winners in the Round of 12 on Saturday – the men’s quarterfinals will also be held in the fourth day of action in Mexico.

Bryl and Łosiak, who won their first title as partners in Mexico three years ago, were upset by German qualifiers Lukas Pfretzschner and Sven Winter in their season-opening match on Thursday and faced the risk of early elimination in Pool C.

Under pressure, the two found their best game on Friday, beating Brazilians Adrielson dos Santos and Arthur Mariano 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) in a win-or-go-home match in the morning to break pool. In the afternoon, the Poles returned to the sand and continued to dominate, eliminating the reigning European champions, Latvians Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots, with another sweep (24-22, 21-14) in the Round of 18.
