The Men's World Cup began just two days after the final matches in the Women's World Cup which saw China, USA and Russia claim gold, silver and bronze respectively. It features five match days in Fukuoka (Marine Messe) and Nagano (White Ring) before teams move to Hiroshima for the remaining six matches at the city's Green Arena from October 9 to 15.
