Lourenço Martins was born in 1997 in Porto and started to play in 2008 at Leixoes SC. He currently plays for SC Espinho, in the 1st division of the national championship. He’s a young talent that comes from a club with tradition. He had is first international match in 2014, in the junior national team. In 2017/18 he played for Sporting CP with whom he won the National Championship and returned this season to SC Espinho. The 195-cm wingspiker as a great margin of evolution being fundamental his technical and tactical development, combined with a good physical preparation of his capacity and structural stability. In 2014/2015 he helped his former national youth team with good performances in the attack and the same in 2017 FIVB U21 Men Volleyball World Championship - European Qualification. In 2016 he played for the senior men’s team in the World League and in the European Qualification. He played in the University Team in the Taipé Summer Universiades 2017 and in the World League 2017 Group 2. 2018 was the year for his explosion and to show his credentials in the national team. He played a good role in Golden European League, Challenger Cup and in the Qualification to the 2019 EuroVolley.
