Ningbo, China, May 14, 2018 - Representatives of the four teams set to compete in FIVB Volleyball Nations League Women's Pool 2 in Ningo, China from May 15 to 17 attended a press conference on Monday.
Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek said: "I am very happy to be here and see all the great teams present. This Volleyball Nations League has a very important meaning to our team. We will do our best to compete with other teams. We know that the Chinese team and the Korean team are very strong opponents, so we will do our utmost to compete with them."
Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek said: "We’re happy to be in China and we feel pleased to take part in the inaugural Volleyball Nations League. Since our players are quite young, it’s a great opportunity for us to accumulate experience, whereby we can build a better Dominican team. I wish this event a great success. To play against the three other teams, South Korea, China and Belgium will not be an easy task."
Korea coach Cha Haewon said: "We are so happy to be here. Our captain Kim Yeon Koung is very famous among Chinese fans. As we all know, a big part of the team’s performance depends on her. This time we would like to make efforts in team-building. We would like to let volleyball fans know the rest of the team members. And we want to learn something from the Chinese team."
China head coach Lang Ping said: "I feel honoured to be here, to participate in the Volleyball Nations League. I want to extend my gratitude to the Beilun government who have offered the training base and host the competition; to Beilun People for their support to our team. This event will last for six weeks. We’ll try to improve the physical strength of our players, and to push their skills to a new level throughout the competition as well as to test the squad’s rookies. Also, we want to have a better understanding of the present women’s volleyball world, to see how our opponents’ techniques have improved and how their newcomers play on court during this event. Moreover, we want to learn something from the other three teams."
