Cagliari, Sardinia to host 2021 World Tour Finals

The Finals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will return to Italy in 2021 when Cagliari hosts the best teams on the circuit from September 8-12. Co-organised by the FIVB, the Italian National Olympic Committee, Sport e Salute and the Italian Volleyball Federation, the event to be held at the Cagliari Marina follows on from the World Tour Finals held two years ago at the Foro Italico in Rome.

Located on the beautiful island of Sardinia, Cagliari will welcome the World Tour’s elite with ten teams per gender set to battle for victory in the ultimate climax of the season. The competition will decide which teams claim the coveted honour of winning the season finale after world champions Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy of Russia and Laura Ludwig and Margareta Kozuch of Germany won gold in 2019.

This year’s event in Cagliari will provide fans with another opportunity to cheer for their favourite players as they return to the courts after the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The World Tour Finals will be played in two phases, a single round robin pool phase will be followed by a knockout round including matches for gold, silver and bronze.

It will be the sixth time that World Tour Finals are held to crown the end of the international beach volleyball season. Previous World Tour Finals took place in the United States (Fort Lauderdale 2015), Canada (Toronto 2016), Germany (Hamburg 2017 and 2018) and Italy (Rome 2019).
