Cancun, Mexico, December 4, 2019 – Cancun will become the second Mexican venue to host a 2019-2020 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event, after the Chetumal 4-Star that opened the season.
The venue that is located on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea will host a mixed-gender 4-Star from March 25-29, the third of 11 4-Star tournaments on the 2019-2020 World Tour.
In doing so it will be the fifth Mexican World Tour venue and as a 4-Star the winner teams will leave with 800 ranking points.
The Chetumal 4-Star ran from November 13-17. Australia’s Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar won the women’s competition, and Jacob Gibb and Taylor Crabb claimed the men’s gold.

There are 41 events in the World Tour calendar with another highlight being the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games beach volleyball tournament which will run from Saturday July 25 to Saturday August 8.
