Bandar Abbas, Iran, December 1, 2019 – Bandar Abbas is a new venue on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, and it will host the first 3-star event in 2020.
The city on Iran’s Gulf coastline will welcome the World Tour from March 3-7.
The men-only tournament will be the third World Tour event to take place in Iran on the 2019-2020 calendar following the 1-Star tournaments in Bandar Torkaman and Qeshm.
Bandar Abbas is the second of five 3-Star events, along with Qinzhou and Jinjiang in China, Jurmala in Latvia and Coolangatta Beach, Gold Coast in Australia.
The city is a major port and capital of Hormozgān Province. It is home to 370,000 people and is 1,300 kilometres away from Iran’s capital Tehran.

There are 41 events in the current World Tour calendar with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games beach volleyball tournament another highlight from Saturday July 25 to Saturday August 8.
