News 03/11/2019 Borger and Sude strike gold in Qinzhou Qinzhou, China, November 3, 2019 – Germany’s Karla Borger and Julia Sude won the gold medal in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Qinzhou 3-star on Sunday, beating the United States’ Brooke Sweat and Kerri Walsh Jennings in the women’s final.The German pair recorded a 2-1 (21-16, 21-19) win against the American pair to claim the top podium spot, as they employed a powerful service game that disrupted their opponent’s plays.Earlier, they triumphed in the semifinal in straight sets (21-14, 23-21) against up-and-coming Chinese tandem Wen Shuhui and Wang Jingzhe.“We beat China in the semifinal in a very tight second set and now Brooke and Kerri in the final,” Sude said. “We were in a bit of a flow and we served really well, I think this was the key in the end. We put a lot of pressure on them so they couldn’t side-out well, even though they played some awesome side-out balls that we didn’t expect, but our serve was the key.“One minute after and I still feel like I’m still on court, but I’m really happy right now,” Borger said. “For sure this will all sink in tomorrow.
