VIDEO: Italian women seeking better success

Lucerne, Switzerland, May 13, 2015 - After finishing 17th in the season-opening FIVB World Tour event last month in China, Italians Laura Giombini and Giulia Momoli are seeking to better their placement at this week's US$150,000 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Lucerne Open 2015.

The 21st-seeded Italians, who are playing in their seventh FIVB World Tour event together, began their Lucerne Open pool play schedule Wednesday by posted a 2-1 (13-21, 21-14, 15-9) seed-break-through win in 42 minutes over 12th-seeded Martina Bonnerova and Barbora Hermannova of the Czech Republic.

Giombini and Momoli play their second pool play match Wednesday against fifth-seeded European champions Madelein Meppelink and Marleen Van Iersel of The Netherlands.  The Dutch defeat a Brazilian pair in their opening match Wednesday.
