Host Cities and Venue

Fuzhou is the capital and one of the largest cities in China’s Fujian Province. Located in the lower reaches of the Min River, it has a population of 7.2 million inhabitants with nearly 4.5 million inhabitants living in the urban areas.

It is named after a mountain situated in the north called Mount Fu and is often referred to as Rong Cheng or Banyan City on account of the many trees, which provide it with shade.

Fuzhou's core county Ningde is situated on the north (or left) bank of the estuary of the Min River while the Putian, Quanzhou, Sanming and Nanping municipalities are located south of the Min border.
