Host City

The Dutch city of Utrecht sees the return of the King of the Court event in 2020, featuring an impressive lineup of the world's top beach volleyball players.

The city of 350,000 is home to the Netherlands' most active beach volleyball scene, as home of a fun-loving student population and a fairy-tale old town which has its origins in Roman times - though the area has been inhabited since the Stone Age.

Utrecht played host to a trial event of King of the Court in 2017, followed by the first stop of the King of the Court Crown Series in 2018, attracting more than 10,000 spectators with action broadcasted in over 200 countries worldwide.

A new stadium with skyboxes for all spectators has been designed for this year's event, allowing fans to respect all safety regulations and social distancing.
