Chinese women’s and Brazilian men’s pairs prevailed in their respective quarterfinal matchups, to make it to the final four cast of the 2023 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Roi-Et on Saturday.

In the women’s quarterfinal draw that consisted of six European teams and two Asian sides, only China have cleared their path into the semifinals, following their strong weekend afternoon win over Estonia.

China’s Yan Xu and Zhou Mingli logged a 2-0 (21-16, 21-16) triumph over Estonia’s Kuivonen/Jürgenson to book the first women’s semifinal spot.

The Chinese pair started their day with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-19) victory against the home team’s S.Patcharaporn/Ch.Suchinna in the Round of 16.

They have collected four wins out of five matches, winning on two occasions against three European sides they faced so far.
