The capital of the province of the same name, Roi Et is the third-straight Thai city to host the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships, following Udon Thani, in 2019, and Phuket, in 2021. Located in the northeastern region of the country, about 500 kms from the national capital Bangkok, Roi Et is home to nearly 35,000 people, with the entire province having a population of just over 1,3 million. Its name means "one hundred and one".
Roi Et has hosted a number of continental events over the last few years, having welcomed the 2022 Asian Senior Women's Beach Volleyball Championship, the 2017, 2019 and 2023 Asian U21 Beach Volleyball Championships and the 2022 Asian Men's U19 Beach Volleyball Championship.
