The 2024 FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships are held from August 27 to September 1 in Shangluo, a city in the central Chinese province of Shaanxi. The competition venue is situated on Qinling Museum Square in the Shangzhou District of the city.

Shangluo is located in the eastern part of the Qin Mountains and has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers, and ample precipitation. About 60% of the approximately 685.2 millimetres of annual precipitation occurs from June to September.

Shangluo boasts a rich history, tracing its roots back to 257 AD. The city has a total area of 19.5 thousand square kilometers and a population of above two million people. It is known for some popular attractions, which include the Xian'e Peak, the Shangluo Lianhu Park, the Dayun Temple of Shangluo, the Mt. Donglong cultural ruins and the Peach Blossom of Xixian'e River.

Shangluo successfully hosted the Chinese National Beach Volleyball Championships in 2023 at a packed stadium with a total of 15,000 spectators over the four days of action. This, however, is the first time Shangluo hosts a world-level beach volleyball event. The 2000-seat centre court for the U19 World Championships is situated in front of the Qinling Musuem with four side competition courts and two warm-up courts located within walking distance.

It is the second time the FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships come to China, after the 2018 edition took place in Nanjing. Nanjing also hosted the 2017 FIVB U21 World Championships and the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Various cities in China have hosted many events on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour and the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour and, of course, the country’s capital Beijing welcomed the Olympic beach volleyball tournament in 2008.
