The beach volleyball competition of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will consist of men's and women's tournaments. The International Olympic Committee has announced new dates for the Games, now scheduled to be held from 23 July to 8 August 2021, while retaining the same name, 'Games of the XXXII Olympiad' and 'Tokyo 2020'.
The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will include a total of 24 teams per gender. Qualification places are allocated to national federations and not teams, with each national federation allowed to have a maximum of two teams representing them per gender.
