The world’s best beach volleyball players will gather in Adelaide from 14 to 23 November 2025, as the confirmed entry lists for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships reveal a field filled with Olympic champions, world title holders and new contenders ready to make history on Australian soil.

The 2025 edition marks a milestone for the sport as the Beach Volleyball World Championships come to Australia for the first time. The event will feature 96 teams, with 48 in each gender, showcasing the depth and diversity of talent from across the globe.

At the top of the men’s draw are Norway’s Anders Mol & Christian Sorum, the No.1 seeds and early favourites to lift the trophy. The Norwegian duo, Olympic gold medallists and former world champions, continue to set the benchmark with their consistency and teamwork this season. Close behind them are the Netherlands’ Stefan Boermans & Yorick de Groot, who have impressed on the Beach Pro Tour, and Sweden’s exciting young pair David Ahman & Jonatan Hellvig, who are known for their creative play and fearless energy.

Reigning world champions Ondrej Perusic & David Schweiner of Czechia are also confirmed and will aim to defend the title they captured in Tlaxcala in 2023. Other strong contenders include Brazil’s Evandro Oliveira Junior & Arthur Lanci, as well as Argentina’s Tomas & Nicolas Capogrosso, both looking to build on recent success.

England’s Javier Bello & Joaquin Bello join the main draw through a Wild Card and will look to make their mark among the world’s best.

In the women’s competition, the long-standing rivalry between Brazil and the United States will again take centre stage. Brazil’s Thamela Coradello & Victoria Lopes lead the entry list ahead of compatriots Carolina Solberg Salgado & Rebecca Cavalcanti. Both teams have enjoyed success throughout the Beach Pro Tour season and enter Adelaide in strong form.

The United States is also well represented with Kristen Nuss & Taryn Brasher seeded third. Their compatriots Terese Cannon & Megan Kraft are not far behind, promising another thrilling battle between two of the sport’s most successful nations. Two years after Sara Hughes & Kelly Cheng captured the world title in Tlaxcala, Cheng returns to Adelaide with new partner Molly Shaw and remain among the top names to watch. Together with Nuss & Brasher and Cannon & Kraft, they strengthen a formidable American contingent chasing another gold medal on Australian sand.

For the host nation, Adelaide 2025 is a defining moment. Australia’s Izac Carracher & Mark Nicolaidis lead the men’s line-up, while Taliqua Clancy, a Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist, pairs with Georgia Milutinovic in the women’s draw. Competing in front of home fans, the Australians will aim to capitalise on the home-sand advantage and produce memorable performances in their first World Championships on home soil.

Australian beach volleyball legend Kerri Pottharst will serve as an event ambassador, adding to the excitement as the sport’s pinnacle event arrives Down Under for the first time.

The confirmed entry lists highlight the worldwide appeal of beach volleyball. Teams from all five continents have earned their place, including emerging sides from Mozambique, Morocco and Benin. Wild Card entries add further excitement, with Dutch duo Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon returning to the world stage after a strong 2024 campaign.

With Olympic medallists, former and current world champions and rising pairs all competing, the Adelaide 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships promise ten days of world-class action and a landmark celebration for the sport in Australia.
