One day after the elimination of George Wanderley and Saymon Barbosa, beach volleyball powerhouse Brazil saw their two other men's teams competing at the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship advance past the tournament's Round of 32.

Taking different paths, André Loyola/Renato Lima and Evandro Gonçalves/Arthur Lanci won their first elimination matches in Adelaide on Wednesday, giving the South American country two spots among the last 16 teams in the event.

The winners of Pool C, André and Renato secured their third victory in four matches in Australia on Wednesday. A new team on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour in 2025, they called the shots against young Austrians Tim Berger and Timo Hammarberg in the Round of 32, winning 2-0 (21-15, 21-14).

The two, who won medals at the 2022 World Championship with different partners (Renato took silver with Vitor Felipe, while André got bronze with George), now wait for the Round of 32 duel involving Sweden's Jacob Hölting Nilsson/Elmer Andersson and Germany's Paul Henning/Lui Wüst to know their next opponents in the tournament, on Thursday.

Evandro and Arthur go long against Kiwis

Evandro and Arthur, who dominated Pool D with an undefeated campaign, were pushed much harder in their first elimination match in Australia, but lived to fight for another day. The Brazilians had to avoid multiple match points from New Zealanders Bradley Fuller and Ben O'Dea before triumphing 2-1 (21-15, 17-21, 25-13).

In the Round of 16, the Brazilians can either face Swiss Marco Krattiger and Leo Dillier or Dutch Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot, who play in the Round of 32 later on Wednesday.

FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships: Match schedule & Results

The Round of 32 continues on Wednesday, with another six matches being played before the end of the day. They will determine the remaining matchups for the Round of 16, which will be held on Thursday.
