Qualifying for the Women’s Olympic Beach Volleyball Games
For national teams to qualify for the women’s Olympic beach volleyball tournament, they must go through a rigorous process involving one of several pathways:
FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships: The top finishing women’s teams at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships earn direct qualification spots for the Olympic Games.
Olympic Qualification Tournaments: Held globally, they offer additional spots for national women’s beach volleyball teams to qualify for the Olympics.
Continental Cup: This qualification pathway allows teams from different continents to compete for Olympic spots. Each continent hosts its tournament, with the winning team earning a place in the women’s Olympic beach volleyball tournament.
FIVB World Rankings: Teams accumulate ranking points based on their performance in various international tournaments leading up to the Olympics. The highest-ranked teams that have not yet qualified through other pathways will secure a spot at the Olympic Games.
Host Country: The host country of the Olympic Games is guaranteed a spot in the women’s beach volleyball tournament, so Team France automatically qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
