One year after beach volleyball captivated the world in front of the Eiffel Tower during the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the sport will be making a return to the French capital. From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 July 2025, the FIVB, in partnership with the City of Paris and the French Volleyball Federation (FFvolley), is hosting a three-day celebration of beach volleyball in the heart of the French capital, at the City Hall.

The Eiffel Tower stadium became a global sensation during the Games, praised by fans and international media alike for its breathtaking setting and electric atmosphere. The Washington Post described it as “a towering achievement,” stating that “no field, arena, or stadium in Paris - or anywhere else - shines brighter than the Eiffel Tower Stadium.” The Associated Press described fans “waving baguettes, dancing the can-can, and singing along to music from a DJ”, turning the 12,860-seat stadium into “the hottest club in Paris.” The Wall Street Journal dubbed it “the greatest stadium on earth.”

The City of Paris aims to preserve the festive and vibrant spirit of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games as a lasting legacy for the city through a rich summer sports programme. A highlight of this initiative will be three beach volleyball courts installed on the forecourt of City Hall throughout the summer. From the 12 July to the 20 August, locals and international visitors will be able to enjoy the beach volleyball experience daily from 13:00 to 19:00 local time.

According to Pierre Rabadan, Deputy Mayor in charge of Sports, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the River Seine: “This tribute to the most iconic stadium of the Games, right in the heart of Paris, this time on the forecourt of City Hall, will allow the public to discover and try out the sport. Thanks to this partnership with the FIVB and FFvolley, visitors will also have the chance to meet Olympic athletes and relive the emotions of the Games, to mark the first anniversary of the Opening Ceremony.”

Throughout the weekend of 25 to 27 July 25, visitors are invited to take part in volleyball taster sessions, enjoy casual matches on open-access courts, join family matches on mini-courts, explore a dedicated sport and art area, and experience a variety of fun volleyball-themed activities designed for all ages.

Adding to the excitement, the Paris 2024 women’s beach volleyball gold medallists from Brazil, Ana Patricia Silva Ramos/Eduarda Santos Lisboa (Duda), as well as the men’s beach volleyball player from France Arnaud Gauthier Rat, alongside his new partner Téo Rotar, will return to the Champs-de-Mars, to relive the incredible memories of last summer.

“Paris 2024 showcased how beach volleyball and volleyball fan engagement belongs on the world’s grandest stages,” said FIVB President Fabio Azevedo. “With the iconic Eiffel Tower as our backdrop and hundreds of thousands of passionate fans filling the air with electric energy in both venues, it was a moment that redefined what a sporting experience can be. This summer, working alongside our incredible partners, we’re bringing that spark back to life right in the heart of the city. And this time, it’s not just about watching the action – it’s about stepping onto the sand yourself. Everyone is invited to feel the magic and be part of the celebration.”

Olympic champion Duda added: “It’s impossible to forget what we experienced under the Eiffel Tower last summer. The energy and the passion of the fans, the beauty of that stadium, I won’t ever forget it. And from what I’ve heard since, others won’t forget it easily either! Coming back to Paris this year means we are coming back to a place and a moment that changed our lives forever. We’re excited to feel the magic again and share it with everyone.”

Admission is entirely free, and all are welcome. Whether you’re a long-time fan or discovering beach volleyball for the first time, this is your invitation to experience one of the summer’s most iconic sporting events for fans.
