HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg among the IOC Members to enjoy today’s volleyball

Carnival atmosphere at both venues accompanies conclusion of quarter-finals

At the magnificent Eiffel Tower Stadium, more honoured guests came today to take in the best backdrop in sport.

HSH Princess Nora of Liechtenstein, the IOC doyenne as its longest serving member, came to enjoy the party atmosphere as quarter-finals drew to a close.

Also at the beach volleyball and the biggest party in Paris was IOC Executive Director of the Olympic Games Christophe Dubi.

Among the distinguished guests watching the volleyball today was the HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, returning to take in more of the booming atmosphere at the South Paris Arena.

HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg paid another visit to the South Paris Arena

He was joined by two more IOC members for Brazil’s victory against Dominican Republic in the women’s tournament.

Olympic swimming champion and IOC Athletes’ Commission member Dániel Gyurta was in attendance, along with Luis Mejía Oviedo, who was unable to prevent his native Dominican Republic from exiting at the quarter-final stage.

Another IOC Member to join the celebrations was three-time Olympic volleyball player, Bernard Rajzman, who returned to enjoy the spectacle of the iconic beach volleyball venue at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

More Government officials were drawn to the thrill of the volleyball competition today too, with Bermuda’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport Owen Darrell the latest to make a visit.
