The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, visited the stunning Eiffel Tower Stadium today, where the beach volleyball competition for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will commence in just three days.

President Macron was greeted by Paris 2024 volunteers and Louise Bawden, a FIVB Ambassador and representative in the Eiffel Tower Stadium. Bawden, a member of the FIVB Athletes’ Commission and an Olympian in both indoor and beach volleyball, is also a three-time winner of the Asian Beach Volleyball Championships.

French Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, alongside Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet, General Manager of the Paris Centre Cluster Thomas lavenant and Eiffel Tower Stadium Venue Manager Augustin Nechad, joined by representatives of volunteers from various functional areas at the Eiffel Tower Stadium, had the honour of presenting Macron with a Paris 2024 beach volleyball match ball signed by members of the French national team and a specially designed FIVB pin for Paris 2024.

The stadium, set against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, the city's most iconic monument, is the most picturesque venue of the Games. It is bathed in sunshine throughout the day, capturing the beach volleyball vibe perfectly, and at night, the Olympic rings light up in white, adding a magical touch to the location.

The Head of State highly praised the readiness of the beach volleyball stadium and thanked the volunteers, staff and Paris 2024 team for their commitment and contribution. He wished great success for the beach volleyball tournament at the heart of Paris and was invited to return to Eiffel Tower Stadium to enjoy top-level beach volleyball performances during the Games.

Beach volleyball at the Games is set to unfold on Saturday 27 August until 10 August under the Eiffel Tower. Paris and the world are in for a treat with an incredible lineup of the sport’s stars set to battle it out for gold.

In addition to world-class action on the sand, the FIVB and Volleyball Foundation are offering an array of interactive activities around the venue for fans, designed to connect and inspire with a Parisian flair. You can read more about the exciting Volleyball Experiences on offer here.
