It is time to wave farewell to the iconic Eiffel Tower Stadium, as the men’s medal matches wrapped up two weeks of world-class beach volleyball on the sand at the most magical sports venue on Earth.

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustav was at the venue again to lend his support to Sweden’s David Åhman & Jonatan Hellvig as they battled for the country’s first-ever beach volleyball gold medal in Olympic history.

Royalty was also in town for Norway’s bronze medal match, with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon, cheering on the Beachvolley Vikings to a spot on the podium.

The Crown Prince of Norway was joined by the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, who was welcomed to the venue by South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV) President Marco Tullio Teixeira.

Also attending the evening session were IOC Executive Board Members and Olympians Kirsty Coventry and Emma Terho.

Meanwhile, the South Paris Arena saw a fierce showdown between Türkiye and Brazil for the women’s bronze medal match, with a huge support for both teams in the crowd. Among them were the recently crowned beach volleyball gold medallists Ana Patricia & Duda from Brazil.

Germany’s NBA basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki also visited the venue to watch the game. He was welcomed to the arena by European Volleyball Confederation President Aleksandar Boričić.
