As the Olympic Games Paris 2024 beach volleyball competition entered day three, the sun continued to shine down on the Eiffel Tower Stadium as royalty, a Hollywood film director and honoured guests visited the most iconic and Instagrammable venue at Paris 2024.

The Spanish Princesses also took the opportunity to meet with Pablo Herrera & Adrian Gavira, Spain’s men’s beach volleyball duo, after their match

The Eiffel Tower Stadium was today graced by royalty as HRH the Princess of Asturias, Leonor de Borbón y Ortiz and HRH Sofía de Borbón y Ortiz, Infanta of Spain came to cheer on Pablo Herrera & Adrián Gavira Collado in their opening match. The Spanish royalty were joined by Spanish Olympic Committee President Alejandro Blanco in the stands.

The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, stopped by the beach volleyball venue for the afternoon session to witness a packed stadium. Mayor Hidalgo was welcomed to the venue by FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°, alongside FIVB Ambassador and Athletes’ Commission President Madelein Meppelink and South American Volleyball Confederation President Marco Tullio Teixeira.

His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg also visited the Eiffel Tower Stadium as the sun set on the third day of competition.

The Mayor of the Gold Coast, Tom Tate and film director Baz Luhrmann, world-renowned for films such as The Great Gatsby, Elvis, Moulin Rouge and many more, were also in town for the biggest party in Paris – beach volleyball under the Eiffel Tower.

Meanwhile, the USA’s Kristen Nuss’ & Taryn Kloth’s match saw LA28 Organising Committee President Casey Wasserman watching on from the stands during their emphatic performance.

Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) President Francesco Ricci Bitti and IOC Member and Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg also swung by to catch Sweden’s match.
