The year 2025 was massive for international beach volleyball, as the sport managed to successfully build on the momentum created during the iconic Paris 2024 Olympics, which had beach volleyball as one of the most fascinating disciplines of the event, with matches played at the feet of the Eiffel Tower.
The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour continued to take the sport to every corner of the planet in its fourth season, offering at the same time elite-level competition for the top teams in the world and plenty of access opportunities for up-and-coming athletes. In 2025, the event visited 28 countries in all five continents, featuring as many as 56 tournaments in the three different levels - Elite (12), Challenge (7) an Futures (37).
Held for the first time on Asian Volleyball Confederation territory, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship was the highlight of the season, reuniting the best 48 teams in each gender, which represented 40 countries in Adelaide, Australia, in November. Olympians Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova made history, taking Latvia to the top of the podium for the first time and finally claiming the big victory they had been chasing since they became partners in 2013.
The 2025 season was filled with outstanding performances and remarkable success, and Volleyball World's social media team produced a ranking of the ten best women's beach volleyball teams of the year:
