19-year-old Holting Nilsson and 18-year-old Andersson, who arrived from Thursday’s qualifiers again and were seeded 10th in the main draw, added two more wins to their incredible victorious run that started last week in India. In the Pool C winners match, however, third-seeded Luini & Penninga put up a fight before succumbing to a 2-1 (17-21, 21-18, 15-10) comeback victory for the Swedes. Ukrainian qualifiers Ivan Datsiuk & Oleksii Bublyk finished third in the pool and also advanced to the knockouts.

Two more teams that started their Nuvali campaigns from the qualifications also went on to record two main draw victories each on Friday and advanced straight to the round of 12. 19th-seeded Tiisaar & Korotkov hammered out a 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) upset of seventh-seeded Americans Chaim Schalk & James Shaw in the Pool F final, while German qualifiers Jonas Sagstetter & Benedikt Sagstetter grabbed the third ticket to the elimination rounds from this pool. 16th-seeded Henning & Wust managed a 2-1 (21-17, 12-21, 15-10) victory over fourth-seeded Remi Bassereau & Calvin Aye of France in the Pool D decider, while American qualifiers Taylor Crabb & Theodore Brunner progressed as the third-placed team.

In a hard-fought Pool E, where each of the four matches was decided in three sets, 17th-seeded Vinicius & Heitor celebrated two tie-breaker wins to secure a spot in the round of 12. In the pool final, the Brazilians achieved a 2-1 (21-11, 20-22, 15-13) victory over fifth-seeded Germans Philipp Huster & Maximilian Just. Portugal’s Joao Pedrosa & Hugo Campos earned advancement through the third-place match.

Only in Pools A and B, the top seeds lived up to their status and topped the standings. Bracket leaders Bello & Bello snatched a 2-0 (21-11, 21-19) win over Austria’s Alexander Horst & Paul Pascariuc for the first place in Pool A, while second-seeded Waller & Hammarberg mastered a 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) shutout of Latvia’s Ardis Bedritis & Arturs Rinkevics in the Pool B winners match. Austria’s Christoph Dressler & Tim Berger and Canada’s Samuel Schachter & Jonathan Pickett took the respective first places in the two pools.
