Volleyball World has confirmed that João Pessoa and Rio de Janeiro will host the two Beach Pro Tour Elite events scheduled to take place in Brazil this September.
Situated on Brazil’s northeastern coast, João Pessoa will stage the first of the back-to-back tournaments from 17–21 September, with 24 teams per gender competing in the main draw. This marks the third consecutive season the city has hosted an Elite-level event on the Beach Pro Tour.
Following João Pessoa, the Tour will head south to Rio de Janeiro, which returns to the calendar after hosting an Elite tournament last November. The event is set to take place from 24–28 September, also featuring 24 teams per gender. The Olympic city remains a key destination on the Tour.
In addition to these Elite events, Brazil is also set to host a Challenge-level tournament in 2025. Initially scheduled for July, the event has now been postponed to 3–7 September, concluding on Brazil’s Independence Day. This adjustment aims to streamline travel logistics for athletes and fans attending the three consecutive events in the country. The location of the Challenge event will be announced shortly.
Elsewhere on the 2025 Beach Pro Tour calendar, the Baden Challenge in Austria is set for a significant upgrade. Scheduled for 5–10 August, the tournament will adopt a five-day format and feature an expanded 32-team main draw per gender, promising top-tier competition in a refreshed setting for both players and supporters.
