Veracruz will host this year’s second Challenge stop in Mexico, while a fourth event of the Elite category in Brazil, to be held in Itapema, has been added on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2025 calendar to replace the Doha Elite that was initially planned to take place in October and November, but has not been confirmed.
The Veracruz Challenge will take place from October 1 to 5. It will be the last event granting points in the qualification process for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide. The tournament will feature up to 32 teams per gender in the qualification brackets, with 32 competing in the main draw for their shares of the USD 250,000 total prize money.
The Challenge event on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico will be the second Challenge and third overall Beach Pro Tour stop in the North American country, after the Yucatan Challenge in Puerto Progresso and the Quintana Roo Elite in Playa del Carmen, both of which took place in March. Over the previous three seasons since the inception of the Beach Pro Tour so far, Mexico has also hosted Challenge stops in Tlaxcala, La Paz and Guadalajara, and Elite16 stops in Rosarito and two in Tepic. The country also organized the most recent edition of FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2023.
