Spanish beach volleyballers Paula Soria & Belen Carro reunited ahead of the upcoming 2025 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour season. They announced their decision to team up again this week on social media.

Paula & Carro are already registered to make their new international debut as a pair at the very first Challenge event of the year, the Yucatan Challenge in Mexico from March 20 to 23, and they have also signed up for most Elite16 and Challenge tournaments on the 2025 Beach Pro Tour calendar, plus a couple of Futures stops in Spain, hoping to qualify for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in Adelaide, Australia and for the 2025 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship in Dusseldorf, Germany. Of course, the duo’s long-term goals also include participation in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

This way, 25-year-old blocker Belen Carro replaces legendary four-time Olympian Liliana Fernandez, who put an end to her career after the Paris 2024 Olympics, as the new partner of 32-year-old defender Paula Soria, who made her Olympic debut in the French capital last year.

Paula & Carro played together for four seasons, from 2018 to 2021, a successful period, during which they picked up three medals on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. After they topped the podium at the Madrid 1-star in September 2021, they went their separate ways... until now.

After their split, Paula first partnered with Sofia Gonzalez and they won the 2022 Madrid Futures together. Then she joined forces with Liliana after the latter returned from her second baby break, and won the Madrid Futures again in 2023. They added two more Beach Pro Tour podiums along their journey together, taking a Bujumbura Futures gold in 2023 and a Stare Jablonki Challenge bronze in 2024, eventually qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

Meanwhile, after playing with Angela Lobato in 2022 and 2023, Carro spent 2024 competing alongside Sofia Gonzalez. In addition to her World Tour medals with Paula, Carro has a 2019 FIVB U21 World Championship bronze and a couple of bronze medals from U22 European Championships with Daniela Alvarez, but she is still hungry for her first podium on the Beach Pro Tour.

Paula & Carro also announced the name of their coach. They will be trained and guided by 38-year-old Spanish instructor Christian Garcia.
