Exactly a year after they celebrated their first ever Beach Pro Tour medal, an Ios Futures silver, 35-year-old Daniel Moreno and 28-year-old Roberto Sanfelix celebrated their second Tour podium, but this time climbing all the way to the top in Karpacz. The fifth-seeded Spaniards dropped only a set in the five matches played on the way to the gold medal. In the semifinals, they produced a 2-0 (21-16, 21-11) upset of top-seeded Tristan Frobel & Tamo Wust of Germany, and in the final, they mastered another emphatic straight-setter, 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) against 15th-seeded Poles Mikolaj Kaczmarek & Kacper Taudul.

Taudul decorated his first ever appearance on the Beach Pro Tour with silver. It was also the first medal for his partner Kaczmarek. They upset some higher seeded opponents on the way to the podium in Karpacz before sweeping the all-Polish semifinal against 16th-seeded compatriots Wiktor Musial & Tomasz Warych by 2-0 (21-12, 21-18).

The German bracket leaders settled for bronze, their second out of two appearances on the Beach Pro Tour this season, and their overall third medal on the Tour. 20-year-old Frobel and 21-year-old Wust bounced back from their only loss of the tournament in the semis with a nail-biting 2-1 (21-16, 15-21, 18-16) victory over Musial & Warych in the third-place playoff.

28 men’s duos from 14 different countries took part in the Karpacz Futures.

The next Futures stops on the Beach Pro Tour will be held in Hangzhou, China, in Balikesir, Turkiye, in Bridlington, United Kingdom and in Geneva, Switzerland (men only) from June 25 to 28.
