The match schedule for the last day of matches in Brazil will start early, with Americans Taryn Brasher and Kristen Cruz (formerly Nuss) facing Italians Claudia Scampoli and Giada Bianchi at 8:00 local time (11:00 UTC) in the first semifinal and Cheg/Shaw facing Brazilian Olympic champions Eduarda 'Duda' Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos one hour later. The winners will play for gold at 16:00 (19:00 UTC), with the bronze medal match being played two hours earlier.

Cheng, a 2023 world champion who spent the last season with Molly Shaw, and Kraft, who won three Beach Pro Tour medals in 2025 with Terese Cannon, are yet to endure their first defeat as partners after four days of action in João Pessoa, having won all five of their matches in the tournament so far.

On Saturday, the Americans were faced with Paraguayan Olympians Michelle Valiente and Giuliana Corrales in the quarterfinals and triumphed 2-1 (21-15, 10-21, 15-11) to confirm their successful team debut.

Brasher and Cruz advance with a three-set victory

The second American team in the semifinals, Brasher and Cruz came out on top in an exciting three-set battle, beating Brazilians Thâmela Coradello and Victoria Lopes 2-1 (21-19, 12-21, 15-10) in a rematch of last year's Saquarema Elite gold medal match. With that, the Americans continue on pace to win their 11th medal in their last 13 international tournaments.

Set to appear in the medal rounds of a Beach Pro Tour Elite tournament together for the first time, Scampoli and Bianchi, who became partners less than a year ago, eliminated American qualifiers Savvy Simo and Devon Newberry in two sets (21-15, 21-18) in the fourth and last quarterfinal.
