The silver went to England’s Javier Bello & Joaquin Bello. It was the seventh medal in the twins’ Beach Pro Tour collection. It now features one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
Samuele Cottafava & Gianluca Dal Corso of Italy completed the Alanya Challenge podium with bronze, their second medal at the Challenge level together. The first one was the Nayarit Challenge gold in March. Last year, they also picked up a silver medal, but at the Futures level.
Seeded 18th in the Alanya Challenge main draw, Paul Henning & Lukas Pfretzschner started their campaign with a loss, but then they got on the winning track and, after six victories in a row, they stepped on top of the podium. In Saturday’s semifinals, the Germans put together a 2-0 (21-18, 23-21) win over Brazilian qualifiers Adelmo Folha & Mateus Dultra, and in Sunday’s gold medal showdown, Henning & Pfretzschner squeezed out a tight 2-0 (22-20, 24-22) victory over the 11th-seeded Bello brothers. Henning led the way with a match-high 24 points, including six kill blocks and an ace. Pfretzschner added another 16 points, all in swings.
England’s Javier Bello & Joaquin Bello decorated their 2026 Beach Pro Tour debut with a silver medal. They won all five of their games on the way to the final and crowned their streak with a 2-1 (16-21, 22-20, 15-9) comeback win over second-seeded Samuele Cottafava & Gianluca Dal Corso.
Paris 2024 Olympian Cottafava and his partner bounced back from their only loss in the tournament with a 2-1 (21-16, 17-21, 15-10) victory over Adelmo & Mateus for the bronze.
A total of 50 men’s teams from 22 different countries took part in the Alanya Challenge.
The next Challenge stop on the Beach Pro Tour will take place in Shangluo, China from July 22 to 26.
