Safety and well-being of participants remains the top priority

The positive test results were identified during mandatory antigen tests carried out upon arrival and confirmed by PCR tests. The players concerned were subsequently required to isolate in their respective hotel rooms. Any further actions will adhere to the guidelines stipulated by local health authorities.
Additionally, the FIVB Medical Commission, in coordination with the event organiser, has decided to implement further mandatory antigen testing for all participants. These tests will be conducted three days after the initial arrival tests to maximise health and safety measures at both the Beach Pro Tour Challenge event in Tlaxcala and Elite 16 event scheduled for 23-27 March in Rosarito. This measure is in addition to the requirement that all participants present negative PCR tests taken within 72 hours prior to arrival and undergo a mandatory antigen test upon arrival to the host city.
The FIVB and Volleyball World remind all event participants to closely follow the COVID-19 protocols in place, including wearing masks at all times when not training or competing in official matches.
The FIVB and Volleyball World remain in close contact with the event organisers and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Rigorous health and safety measures at the event continue to be followed to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
