Volleyball World has agreed a new multi-year media rights partnership with Germany’s national public broadcaster ZDF, ensuring that German volleyball fans can enjoy free access to comprehensive coverage of Germany’s national teams competing in leading international volleyball competitions.

The deal follows the recent extension of SN1 Sports’ partnership with Volleyball World through to 2032. Under the renewed agreement, the Munich-based consultancy will continue to exclusively advise and assist the sale of indoor and beach volleyball media rights across numerous European markets, including Germany, where SN1 Sports played a key role in securing the new partnership with ZDF.

Under the agreement, ZDF will broadcast all German national team matches from the men’s and women’s VNL (Volleyball Nations League), while also expanding volleyball coverage across its ZDF Mediathek platform and free-to-air television channels.

ZDF will air all German national team matches from both the men’s and women’s VNL this summer, giving fans the opportunity to follow their national teams across both free-to-air and digital platforms.

Felix von Knorring, Head of Media at Volleyball World, commented:

“This agreement marks a major milestone for Volleyball World and German volleyball. Partnering with ZDF means our competitions will be able to reach more fans across Germany than ever before, while giving fans unprecedented free access to elite international volleyball. This is a critical step towards increasing the visibility of volleyball across Germany.”

Sascha Kojic, CEO of SN1 Sports, added:

“It was crucial for us to find Volleyball World a truly strategic partner in Germany, and ZDF is exactly that. Their comprehensive digital coverage is just as important as free-to-air, with Mediathek already proving its outstanding reach and engagement during major sporting events. This partnership ensures volleyball is positioned strategically for long-term growth.”
