Volleyball World, the commercial arm of the FIVB responsible for driving the sport's global growth and fan experience, today announces the renewal of its partnership with Vodafone Türkiye, who will return as Official Partner of the Amazon Women’s Volleyball Nations League Ankara for a third consecutive year.
The partnership began in Antalya in 2024, when Vodafone's 5G network was used to support live match statistics during the Women’s VNL. Over the past three years, the collaboration has expanded through a series of technology-led initiatives designed to enhance the experience for fans attending and following the competition. The work builds on Vodafone's broader commitment to volleyball in Türkiye through its partnership with the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), which began in 2023.
In 2026, Volleyball World and Vodafone will introduce a new fan engagement activation at the Amazon Women’s VNL Ankara using 5G technology to connect the global volleyball community more closely with the live event experience.
Vodafone's 5G infrastructure has supported a range of innovations at the Women’s VNL events in Türkiye, including the delivery of real-time match statistics to broadcast audiences and the operation of Bolt6 challenge systems in the arena. As one of the world's leading 5G markets, Türkiye continues to provide a strong platform for demonstrating how advanced connectivity can support the delivery of major sporting events.
The Amazon Women’s VNL Ankara continues to attract strong attendances and broadcast audiences, reflecting the country's deep connection with the sport. In 2025, VNL broadcast coverage in Türkiye increased by 63% to nearly 400 hours, highlighting growing interest in the competition and the continued popularity of the national teams. Against this backdrop, the partnership between Volleyball World and Vodafone reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the fan experience and exploring new ways to connect audiences with the sport.
Oliver Clarke, Chief Partnerships Officer at Volleyball World, said:
"Over the past three years, Vodafone has been an exceptional partner in helping us explore how technology can enhance the volleyball experience for fans around the world. What started as an exciting innovation project in 2024 has evolved into one of the most forward-thinking technology partnerships in our sport. With each year we have challenged ourselves to go further, and the Amazon Women’s VNL Ankara will deliver our most ambitious activation yet. We are continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible and creating new ways for fans to experience and engage with volleyball."
