With the 2024-2025 Polish Women’s Tauron Liga regular season entering its final stretch, teams are looking for better positioning ahead of the start of the playoffs.

The fourth leg of the second round starts on Friday in Poland and the very first of the five matches scheduled to take place over the weekend in the country, reuniting MOYA Radomka Radom and #VolleyWrocław, could make a major impact in the standings.

The Tauron Liga Top Four is now well-established with KS DevelopRes Rzeszów (36 points), PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź (36), ŁKS Commercecon Łódź (34) and BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała (29), but below them, everything is yet to be determined.

Friday’s encounter between Radomka, who are currently in fifth place, with 18 points (six wins, eight losses), and #VolleyWrocław, who are seventh, with 15 (six wins, eight losses), will likely have the winners ending the weekend in fifth place as sixth-placed LOTTO Chemik Police won’t be on the court this weekend.

The match scheduled for 17:30 local time (16:30 GMT) will mark the second encounter between the teams this season as #VolleyWrocław prevailed in five sets in the first round of the regular season. Historically, Radomka have been the most successful, with ten victories in 13 duels.

Radomka are currently in great form in the Tauron Liga as the team ended a three-match winless streak with back-to-back victories over Chemik and Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz that took them from ninth to fifth in the standings.

The team also has some of the league’s individual standouts in Polish national team middle blocker Kamila Witkowska, who ranks first in blocks with 56, Croatian outside hitter Laura Miloš, the leader in passing efficiency with 56,28%, and opposite Monika Gałkowska, the tournament’s third-best scorer with 209 points.

The team from Wrocław is trending on the opposite direction as, after holding onto the fifth place in the standings for three weeks, they lost three straight matches to Commercecon, ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec and Sokół & Hagric Mogilno and dropped two spots.

Ranked second with the same 36 points, Budowlani will be on the court on Saturday, at 12:30 local time (11:30 GMT), against tenth-placed Sokół.

Two other matches will be held on Saturday, with third-placed Commercecon hosting 11th-placed Mielec at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT) and eight-placed UNI Opole welcoming 12th-placed Energa MKS Kalisz at 20:30 local time (19:30 GMT).
