Commercecon and Radomka will meet on Saturday’s first semifinal, scheduled for 14:45 (13:45), with Bielsko-Biała and DevelopRes battling later, at 18:00 (17:00 GMT).

Ranked second in the Tauron Liga standings, Commercecon overcame KS Marba Sędziszów Małopolski in the Round of 16 and regional rivals PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź in the quarterfinals to find their way to the tournament’s Final Four. The team from Łódź will try to win the tournament for the fourth time after lifting the trophy in 1981-1982, 1985-1986 and 2017-2018.

“I don’t think there’s a favorite for the Polish Cup Final Four,” said Brazilian outside hitter Regiane Bidias. “The teams have, in general, been playing better in the second half of the season, so every match is unpredictable. Radomka are a strong team, led by Monika Gałkowska, who’s an excellent hitter. We’ll need to be ready for any scenario, to be determined and fight for every point.”

Their opponents Radomka are currently in fifth place in the Tauron Liga. After eliminating ECO HARPOON LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki in the Round of 16 and Sokół & Hagric Mogilno in the quarterfinals, they head to Elbląg determined to win gold for the first time after taking bronze in 2017-2018 and 2020-2021.

Commercecon have been considerably successful in the duels against Radomka over the years, having triumphed 19 times in 22 meetings. The team from Łódź has won the last eight matches, including the one in the first round of 2024-2025 Tauron Liga, when they prevailed 3-1.

Bielsko-Biała go for the ninth title

Set to play on Saturday’s second semifinal, defending champions Bielsko-Biała are among the most successful teams in the Polish Cup as their eight (1978-1979, 1987-1988, 1988-1989, 1989-1990, 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2008-2009 and 2023-2024) victories make of them the second team with the most victories, only behind LOTTO Chemik Police, who have ten titles.

Bielsko-Biała are fourth in the Tauron Liga and qualified for the Final Four with victories against KSG Warszawa in the Round of 16 and Chemik in the quarterfinals.

“We are the defending champions, so we need to have the confidence that we can do something great,” opposite Kertu Laak remarked. “We did all we could to be in our best form during the Polish Cup Finals. It won’t be easy, but we want to play at our best level in Elbląg.”

Tauron Liga leaders DevelopRes are still building a winning tradition in the Polish Cup and have triumphed in the tournament just once, in 2021-2022. This year, they made it to the Final Four by downing UNI Opole in the Round of 16 and ITAS TOOLS STAL Mielec in the quarterfinals without dropping sets.

“We can’t wait to play in the Finals,” said star middle blocker Agnieszka Korneluk. “Bielsko-Biała are a young team, but they showed they can beat really good teams this season, so we’ll need to remain calm during the match as I’m sure it’s going to be a tight one. With the way we’re playing, we know we have a chance of winning it all and we definitely want to lift the first trophy of the season.”

DevelopRes have won most of the duels between the teams over the years, having prevailed 20 times to Bielsko-Biała’s six. The current Polish League leaders are undefeated in the last four encounters.
