SESI Bauru were handed their first defeat in the 2025-2026 Brazilian Men's Superliga on Monday, when the last match of the fourth leg of the regular season was played.

Despite playing at home, SESI couldn't handle Suzano Vôlei, who dominated the second half of the encounter to triumph 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20) in the last of six matches held in the country over the last five days.

With that, Praia Clube, who sit at the top of the standings with 14 points (five wins), are now the only undefeated team in the tournament. Defending champions Sada Cruzeiro are second, with 13 (four wins, one loss), followed by Vôlei Renata Campinas and Suzano, which both have nine, with three wins and a loss. With two vitories and one defeat, SESI have five points, ranking seventh.

Star opposite Guilherme Sabino was huge for Suzano, carrying the team to victory with 25 points (24 kills, one block), and took home the match's MVP award. Outside hitters Gabriel Pessoa and Robert dos Anjos also had productive nights, adding 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Opposite Marcos Junior was SESI's leading scorer with 14 points (all in kills), while outside hitter Gabriel Vaccari tallied 12, with 11 kills and a block.

Praia continue undefeated

League leaders Praia managed to continue undefeated after playing their fifth Superliga match of the season. The team from Uberlândia was at home on Sunday and handled business against eighth-placed Joinville Vôlei, winning 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19).

Veteran opposite Franco Paese led the team's offense with 22 points (19 kills, three blocks), while setter Rafael Forster earned the MVP award after registering 34 assists and contributing three points, with a kill, a block and an ace.

On Friday, reigning world champions Cruzeiro dominated in-state rivals Itambé Minas, securing a solid 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19) victory. Replacing star opposite Wallace de Souza, who's out due to a knee injury, Welinton Oppenkoski fired 19 points (17 kills, two blocks) for the winning side and received the MVP award.

The fourth leg of the Men's Superliga regular season also had ninth-placed Azulim Sicoob Aracoop Monte Carmelo beating fifth-placed Saneago Goiás Vôlei 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-13, 26-28, 15-13) and third-placed Vôlei Renata Campinas downing sixth-placed Vôlei Guarulhos Bateubet 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 27-25) on Saturday and tenth-placed Viapol Vôlei São José sweeping (25-15, 25-12, 25-18) 11th-placed JF Vôlei on the road on Sunday.

The fifth leg of the regular season will have matches going on from Thursday to Monday, but before that, on Wednesday, at 21:00 local time (00:00 UTC, Thursday), Sada Cruzeiro and Campinas will meet in a rematch of last year's final in a duel anticipated from the 11th leg.
