Ranked sixth in the 2025-2026 Brazilian Men's Superliga, Suzano Vôlei start this weekend a series of matches that could determine their fate in the tournament.

Set to face the four best-ranked teams in the standings in consecutive matches, they begin that sequence at home against fourth-placed Itambé Minas on Saturday, at 19:30 local time (22:30 UTC), in the fifth leg of the second round of the regular season.

Suzano are strongly involved in the race for a spot in the playoffs, appearing in sixth place with 24 points (eight wins, seven losses). A victory on Saturday could get them as high as fourth, taking the position that actually belongs to Minas, which have 27 points (eight wins, seven losses).

They are, however, set to enter their most difficult stretch in the entire season, facing Minas, league leaders Sada Cruzeiro, second-placed Praia Clube and third-placed Vôlei Renata Campinas in consecutive matches. In the first round, Suzano lost all four encounters, earning only two points, and dropped some spots in the standings.

The team from the São Paulo state gets to Saturday's duel coming from three consecutive victories in the Superliga, having defeated Vôlei Guarulhos Bateubet, Joinville Vôlei and SESI Bauru in the last three legs.

In excellent form, high-scoring opposite Guilherme Sabino is one of Suzano's main weapons against Minas. The 23-year-old scored 44 points in the team's most recent match, the second-highest mark ever registered in the Superliga. He's the Superliga's second-best scorer with 298 points.

Their opponents Minas are also set to enter the court in positive spirits after they took down leaders Sada Cruzeiro last Sunday, ending their nine-match winning streak.

The teams went to five sets in the first round of the regular season, with Minas triumphing at home. They were also on the winning side in eight of the last ten duels.

Cruzeiro and Campinas also play on Saturday

Defeated in the last leg of Superliga, Cruzerio and Campinas also play on Saturday, looking to bounce back. The league leaders with 38 points (12 wins, three losses), Cruzeiro face fifth-placed Saneago Goiás Vôlei at home at 18:30 (21:30 UTC).

Campinas, who dropped to third with 33 points (11 wins, four losses), get on the court later, hosting 11th-placed Joinville Vôlei at 21:30 (00:30 UTC, Sunday).
