With plenty of drama at the bottom of the standings and the leaders going down, the 2025-2026 Brazilian Men's Superliga regular season came to an end on Friday.

While the eight teams that will compete in the playoffs got to know their opponents in their upcoming best-of-three quarterfinal series, Joinville Vôlei couldn't avoid relegation and will join JF Vôlei in the Superliga B in 2026-2027.

The best team in the regular season, defending champions Sada Cruzeiro had already confirmed the top spot in advance, and ended their regular season campaign with a 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 25-21) defeat to Vôlei Renata Campinas on the road. In the quarterfinals, they will face Saneago Goiás Vôlei, who entered the decisive leg qualified but couldn't move up in the standings after falling to Itambé Minas 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-21) on the road and finished eighth.

Also confirmed in second place before getting on the court, South American champions Campinas will play against Azulim Sicoob Aracoop Monte Carmelo, who dropped a five-setter (25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12) to Suzano Vôlei on the road and ended up in seventh place.

Praia Clube depended only on their own efforts to finish third, and they accomplished their goal with a sweep (25-23, 25-23, 25-23) of already-relegated JF Vôlei. With that, they will face Vôlei Guarulhos Bateubet, who finished sixth after taking Joinville down 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-19) on the road.

Despite their victory over Goiás, Minas couldn't improve their fourth-place finish on the last day of the regular season and will play Suzano, who also preserved their fifth-place spot.

São José avoid relegation in dramatic fashion

The most exciting match of the last day of the regular season was certainly the one that culminated with Viapol Vôlei São José confirming their presence in the Brazilian elite in 2026-2027.

The team from the São Paulo state got to the last leg inside the relegation zone with 20 points, one behind Joinville, and, after their rivals went down to Guarulhos, needed a victory on the road against SESI Bauru to keep their spot in the Superliga.

There was no shortage of back-and-forth and drama, but after almost three hours of action, they got the job done, triumphing 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 24-22) and celebrating their salvation.
