Defending champions Osasco currently hold the first place with 11 points, but are only ahead of Minas because of their higher set ratio. Flamengo are third with nine points, but have one game in hand and can move up to the top of the standings if they collect all three points.

Last year's runners-up SESI Vôlei Bauru also entered the week undefeated but were upset by Fluminense 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-20) at home on Sunday in the last match of the weekend in Brazil. Opposite Ariane Pinto led Fluminense to victory with 22 points (16 kills, five blocks, one ace) and earned the match's MVP award. Outside hitter Kasiely Clemente and middle blocker Mayany Souza scored 11 points each for SESI.

Minas win the Derby and sink Praia

Minas prevailed in the most anticipated match of the week in Brazil, taking down rivals Dentil Praia Clube 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-17) on the road on Friday and making their opponents drop three consecutive Superliga matches for the first time since 2020-2021. Polish setter Julia Nowicka was the match’s MVP, while Canadian national team outside hitter Hilary Johnson topped all scorers with 14 points (11 kills, two blocks, one ace).

Also on Friday, Osasco were at home and swept (25-17, 34-32, 25-23) Batavo Mackenzie. American setter Jenna Gray was selected as the MVP, while Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno and American outside hitter Caitie Bird delivered 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Flamengo played on Thursday, and, even on the road, had no trouble taking Tijuca Tênis Clube down 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 26-24). Setter Giovana Gasparini was given the MVP trophy and American outside hitter Simone Lee led their offense with 21 points (19 kills, two blocks).
