Osasco's form in the Superliga is not as positive, with them having two defeats in their last five matches, but they recently made it to two finals, winning the Brazilian Cup and finishing second in the South American Championship, which earned them a spot in the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
The defending champions have 40 points (13 wins, six losses), one less than third-placed Dentil Praia Clube, and could use a big road win over the leaders to get to a better spot in that race.
"Minas are always very tough opponents," opposite Tiffany Abreu said. "We played really well against them in the Brazilian Cup final and we've been working to be able to keep that level and, hopefully, repeat the result. We'll be on the road, which makes things even harder, but I trust the work of the team and the coaching staff to earn points that would be extremely valuable as the regular season nears its end."
Before falling to Osasco in the Brazilian Cup final, Minas had defeated them in the first round of the regular season. They also came out on top in six of the last ten encounters.
