Three teams entered the seventh leg of the 2025-2026 Brazilian Women's Superliga undefeated, but only two of them, Gerdau Minas and SESC RJ Flamengo, will leave as such after the first day of matches was completed on Monday.

After claiming victories over Sancor Maringá Vôlei and Osasco São Cristovão Saúde, respectively, Minas and Flamengo will enter their Friday duel in Rio de Janeiro ranked first and second, with 20 and 18 points.

Minas played at home on Monday and counted on the support of their fans to produce a strong performance and take ninth-placed Maringá down 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21) in Belo Horizonte. Canadian outside hitter Hilary Johnson led the team with 14 points (all in kills), while Russian opposite Maria Khaletskaya earned the match's MVP after contributing 12 (11 kills, one ace).

"I thought everyone played very well today," Khaletskaya said. "We're still undefeated in the Superliga, and that's a result of our intense training. I hope we can keep the same rhythm for the next matches."

A few hours later, Flamengo faced defending champions and third-placed Osasco on the road and, even not being able to count on American outside hitter Simone Lee, triumphed 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-17). Lee's substitute, Brazilian national team outside hitter Helena Wenk had a team-high 13 points (ten kills, two aces, one block) and earned the MVP award.

"It was a very important match for me," Helena reflected. "Simone is a key player for us, and I knew I'd have to step up for the team. But I was ready, the team helped me a lot, and everything went well. Beating Osasco 3-0 here is really difficult, and I'm proud of the way we did it. Now we need to continue looking forward as we have some other important matches coming our way."

Also on Monday, seventh-placed Paulistano Barueri upset fourth-placed Fluminense on the road, winning 3-1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19).
