Having SESC RJ Flamengo as the top-seeded team, the 2025-2026 Brazilian Women's Superliga playoffs were set on Tuesday, when the regular season came to an end.

The Rio de Janeiro side needed a win against Batavo Mackenzie, who, interestingly, will be their opponents in the quarterfinals, to finish first, and got it, triumphing 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-16) in front of their home fans.

The victory got the team coached by the legendary Bernardo 'Bernardinho' Rezende up to 55 points in the standings and also confirmed Mackenzie as their next opponents, after the Belo Horizonte side finished eighth with 27 points.

Held in best-of-three series, the quarterfinals will also have second-placed Gerdau Minas facing seventh-placed Sancor Maringá Vôlei, third-placed Osasco São Cristovão Saúde playing sixth-placed Fluminense and fourth-placed Dentil Praia Clube clashing with fifth-placed SESI Vôlei Bauru.

Olympic medalist opposite Tainara Santos earned the MVP award in the match that confirmed Flamengo in third place after scoring 20 points (16 kills, three blocks, one ace), two less than American outside hitter Simone Lee.

Second-placed Minas also ended their regular-season campaign at home and swept (26-24, 25-21, 25-13) 12th-placed and relegated Renasce Sorocaba in their last match before the start of the playoffs.

The battle for third-place went Osasco's way, as the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship bronze medalists defeated reigning South American champions SESI 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-17) in the match that marked the 800th appearance of star libero Camila Brait with the team and got to 49 points.

Praia win in Carol Gattaz's farewell

In Uberlândia, despite falling behind in the race for third place, Praia had a festive night in their 3-1 (21-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-16) victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube, which marked the retirement of Olympic medalist Carol Gattaz.

The 44-year-old middle blocker, who earlier this week announced her decision to end her career, had the match's first serve and returned to the court in the final points, registering a kill and being honored with the MVP award.

The 11th and last leg of the regular season also had Fluminense topping Brasília Vôlei in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-19) and Maringá beating Paulistano Barueri 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22) on the road.
