Itas Trentino Trento and Rana Verona will lock horns in Sunday’s final of the 2025-2026 Italy Cup in men’s volleyball at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, set to serve off at 18:00 local time (17:00 UTC). In Saturday’s semifinals, the two teams outlasted Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza and Sir Susa Scai Perugia, respectively, to stay on track to snatching Italy’s national cup crown. For Trentino, it will be the 10th Coppa Italia final in the club’s history, while Verona advanced to the trophy showdown for the second (consecutive) time.

Saturday’s first semifinal, played in front of a sellout crowd of 9,130 spectators, offered a five-set saga that lasted over two hours. After winning the first set, Itas Trentino Trento had to come back from a set down against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza before celebrating a 3-2 (25-21, 26-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11) victory and booking their spot in Sunday’s showdown.
Trentino’s French opposite Theo Faure led the way to success with a match-high 24 points. He spiked 21 at a 58% success rate and added three aces. All four of the team’s other starting attackers reached the double digits as well. Spanish outside hitter Jordi Ramon and his 20-year-old cross-court teammate Alessandro Bristot put away 15 points apiece. Ramon registered a 68% success rate in attack and scored one kill block, while Bristot fired a couple of aces. Brazilian middle blocker Flavio Gualberto killed 10 balls in attack at a 77% success rate, while German middle Simon Torwie scored three stuffs, one ace and six swings. Trentino’s star outside Daniele Lavia also appeared in play as a substitution during sets one and three after a long injury-prompted absence.
Gas Sales’ 21-year-old opposite Alessandro Bovolenta produced three stuffs and two aces towards a team-high 23 points. Turkish outside Efe Mandiraci added 19 points, including two aces and a block, while his Cuban cross-court teammate Jose Gutierrez raised four kill blocks and fired two aces to finish with 11 points.
Rana Verona mastered a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) sweep of the second semifinal against reigning club world and European champions Sir Susa Scai Perugia.
They were led by Malian outside Noumory Keita with a match-high 17 points. He registered two kill blocks, one ace and a 58% success rate in offense. Brazilian opposite Darlan Souza contributed 13 points, including three stuffs and two aces, signing off with a 73% success rate in spiking. Slovenian outside Rok Mozic finished with nine points, including the blistering ace, with which he closed the match in the third set.
Tunisian opposite Wassim Ben Tara, with 13 points, was Sir’s only player to reach the double digits. He spiked at a success rate of 60%.
