PGE Projekt Warsaw v JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj
The first match of the quarterfinal series between PGE Projekt Warsaw and JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj, a remake of last year’s third-place playoff, is set to be played at the Torwar in the Polish capital on Friday, March 27, 20:00 local time (19:00 UTC).
Last year’s bronze medalists Projekt are having another strong season in the PlusLiga. They finished the regular season in second place on 54 points and a 19-7 win-loss record. With two silver and three bronze medals on their Polish league record, the club from Warsaw is aiming at its first ever national title.
Jastrzebski Wegiel, who won the 2024-2025 regular season before finishing fourth at the end of last year’s playoffs, booked a last-minute quarterfinal spot this year, by finishing seventh on 42 and 15-11. If they make it through to the end and win the PlusLiga, they will add a fifth national title to their showcase.
Projekt are on a six-game winning streak in the head-to-head series against Jastrzebski Wegiel. That includes all three matches of last spring’s bronze medal playoff and both games so far this season, which they won by 3-0 on the road and 3-1 at home. Jastrzebski Wegiel, however, are 32-25 ahead in the all-time record between the two clubs in the PlusLiga.
Asseco Resovia Rzeszow v Indykpol AZS Olsztyn
Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will get their quarterfinal clash started on Saturday, March 27, at 14:45 local time (13:45 UTC). Resovia will host the first game of the series at the Podpromie hall.
Resovia finished the regular season in fourth place on 51 and 18-8. Historically, they have claimed the national title seven times, but none within the last 10 years. Last year, they finished sixth in the final PlusLiga standings.
Indykpol, who took ninth place last year, are already having a much better season this year. They are entering the playoff bracket as the fifth-placed team, on 46 and 16-10 from the regular season. The club from Olsztyn has triumphed with the national title five times in history, most recently back in 1992.
The two teams exchanged home wins during the regular season. Indykpol won their home game in four sets, and when they visited Rzeszow, they managed to push Resovia to five sets before folding. The overall head-to-head record between the two clubs in the PlusLiga stands at 37-21 Resovia’s way.
BOGDANKA LUK Lublin v PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow
BOGDANKA LUK Lublin will entertain PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow at the Globus on Saturday, March 27, at 20:00 local time (19:00 UTC).
BOGDANKA are current holders of all domestic trophies in Poland – the PlusLiga champions title, the Poland Cup and the Poland Super Cup – having recently won each of these trophies for the first time in the club’s history. Last year, they finished the regular season in fourth place, but then pushed through the playoffs all the way to the top of the podium. This year, they are in third place on 53 and 18-8.
SKRA took sixth place on 44 and 15-1. They are the most decorated club in the PlusLiga since its inception a quarter of a century ago, having won gold nine times, most recently in 2018. Last year, they finished seventh in the final PlusLiga standings.
The two rivals traded road victories during the regular season, with SKRA winning by 3-1 in Lublin and BOGDANKA winning by 3-0 in Belchatow. BOGDANKA have won seven of the previous 10 PlusLiga encounters with SKRA.
Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie v ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle
The first leg of quarterfinals will end on Sunday, March 29, with a game between Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Aluron will host their playoff matches not at their usual home venue in Zawercie, but at the arena in Sosnowiec. The match is scheduled at 14:45 local time (12:45 UTC).
After taking the bronze in 2022 and two silvers in 2024 and 2025, Aluron are now targeting their first ever championship title. They topped the regular season table by a wide margin, on 61 and 21-5. During the season, they also claimed a historic bronze medal at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.
ZAKSA have collected as many as nine national championship titles in the club’s history so far, including seven since the launch of the PlusLiga. Last year they finished in fifth place, but having lost more matches than they have won this year, they struggled to qualify for the playoffs and did so in the very last leg of the regular season, grabbing the eighth place on 40 and 12-14.
ZAKSA managed to book a quarterfinal spot thanks to the two sets they won upon their visit to Zawiercie last weekend. When they hosted Aluron in the fall, they lost in four sets. The club from Kedzierzyn-Kozle still leads the all-time head-to-head series against Aluron in the PlusLiga by 14-10.
