The first of seven matches of the upcoming seventh leg of regular season action in the men’s volleyball PlusLiga in Poland – between PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow and Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa – will be played on Friday. A high-profile clash between Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will get the weekend program underway on Saturday afternoon. The leg offers one more game on Saturday, three on Sunday and one on Monday.

Just three days after suffering their first loss of the season, at home in five sets to ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle, Asseco Resovia Rzeszow are about host another powerful opponent, table leaders Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. Last season’s silver medalists of both the PlusLiga and Europe’s CEV Champions League will visit the Podpromie hall on Saturday, November 22, at 14:45 local time (13:45 UTC). Resovia occupy third place in the current standings on 14 points and a 5-1 win-loss record. Having played two games more than their opponents, Aluron top the table on 17 and 6-2. Last season, the two clubs met four times, twice in the regular season and twice in the quarterfinal playoffs. The squad from Zawercie won all four of those encounters. The all-time head-to-head record between the two clubs stands at 16-13 Aluron’s way, including a CEV Cup quarterfinal golden set Resovia won two seasons ago.
PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow and Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa will open the seventh leg on Friday, November 21, at 20:00 (19:00) at the Energia hall in Belchatow. SKRA have played only five matches so far this season, won the last four of them and stand fifth in the table on 12 points. Steam are third from the bottom, in 12th place on 3 and 1-5.
In Saturday’s second match, at 17:30 (16:30), last regular season winners JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj will entertain PlusLiga rookies InPost ChKS Chelm. Jastrzebski Wegiel are currently running in ninth place on 7 and 3-3. Chelm are two spots below them, in 11th place on 5 and 2-4.
Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, who stand second in the table on 16 and 5-2, will try to improve their record further as they welcome bottom-placed Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski to the Urania hall in Sunday’s opening match at 14:45 (13:45). Cuprum Stilon remained the only winless team in the league so far and trail in 14th place on 3 and 0-6.
PGE Projekt Warsaw will host Slepsk Malow Suwalki at the Torwar on Sunday, November 23, at 17:30 (16:30). Last season’s bronze medalists are now in sixth place on 12 and 4-2, while Slepsk Malow, who earned their first victory of the season on Monday, stand second from the bottom, in 13th place on 3 and 1-5.

Ukraine’s Barkom Kazhany Lviv will welcome defending champions BOGDANKA LUK Lublin to Elblag in Sunday’s closing fixture, set to serve off at 20:00 (19:00). The only foreign team in the league has also played only five games so far and is currently in 10th place on 7 and 2-3. Lublin are running fourth on 13 and 4-3.
Energa Trefl Gdansk and ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle will close the leg on Monday, November 24. Their game at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk starts at 17:30 (16:30). The two teams are neighbors in the table, both just above the cut-off line for the playoffs. Trefl are eighth on 8 and 3-3, and ZAKSA are seventh on 9 and 3-3.
