Back in front of their fans, Supercoppa Italiana champions Milano hope to be able to claim their third and decisive victory in the series this weekend. They had their first opportunity to do it on Wednesday and competed until the end of the second set, but saw Scandicci grow in the end and triumph 3-1, keeping the dispute open.

"It will be great to play in front of our fans again, and we'll need their support to get a crucial victory," head coach Stefano Lavarini said. "It was obvious from the start that this series wouldn't be decided in three matches.  Scandicci were better than us on Wednesday, but we'll learn from all three matches to improve. But at the end of the day, what will really count is what we do on Sunday, so we'll need to play at our best level."

World champions Scandicci got new life after getting their first victory in the series during the week. The return of star Serbian setter Maja Ognjenović, who had missed the first two matches of the series due to an injury, was another piece of great news for them, who hope to keep trending in the right direction as the series continues.

"We need to approach each match as if it could be the last one, and that's exactly the case now," head coach Marco Gaspari remarked. "Going back to Milano, we know they'll be determined to get payback for the last match. On our side, we need to focus on continuing to play well on blocking and defense, as I believe this was one of the keys to our victory. It's definitely going to be a tough match, just like the other three, but we're determined to win and play the decisive fifth match in our stadium."

Wednesday's victory made Scandicci come out on top again after losing to Milano three straight times in 2025-2026. Historically, Milano have 22 victories to Scandicci's 17.
