Honda Cuneo Granda Volley and Bergamo have different goals in their sights at this moment in the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà, but a victory in their encounter in the 11th leg of the regular season this weekend would equally help both accomplish them.

The teams will play on Sunday, at 17:00 local time (16:00 UTC), at the Pala Fachetti, in Treviglio, in the last of seven Italian League matches set to happen this weekend.

Cuneo, who will be on the road on Sunday, are currently the first team outside the qualification zone for the playoffs, ranking ninth in the Italian League standings with 13 points (four wins, six losses). They had a good start to the season, winning three of their first four matches, but four consecutive setbacks in November took them down to their current spot.

With sixth-placed Il Bisonte Firenze, seventh-placed Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia and Eurotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio all having the same 13 points, Cuneo have a good chance of getting back into the qualification zone if they take all three points against Bergamo this weekend.

"We have a young team, with limited experience in the Italian League, and having the entire week to practice was very important for us," head coach François Salvagni explained. "It was a positive week, and I feel that we'll enter Sunday's match motivated and well-prepared. We made great progress from Monday to Friday, and I see a team that's hungry to win matches."

Opposite Bintu Diop, who leads the team with 151 points, Slovenian outside hitter Maša Pucelj, who has 132, and American middle blocker Jaelyn Keene, who tallied 112 so far, will be pivotal in Cuneo's performance.

Bergamo's fight at the moment is to get out of the relegation zone. One of the most traditional teams in Italian volleyball, the eight-time national champions are currently in 13th place with nine points (two wins, eight losses), only two above Omag-Mt San Giovanni In Marignano. A home victory on Sunday, though, could make them pass as many as four teams, including Cuneo.

Bergamo has also recently experienced a difficult run of form in the Italian League, dropping seven consecutive matches within a month before their victory over Wash4Green Monviso Volley last weekend.

"I think we really deserved to win last weekend and it was a result that we needed," Cuban outside hitter Ailama Cesé remarked. "Our coach told us to play freely and fight for every ball, and that's what we have to keep doing going forward."

With 164 points scored, American opposite Kendall Kipp has been carrying their offense this season. Cesé comes next, with 132.

The teams have a history of competitive matches in the Italian League, with each side claiming four victories in the eight duels held - they split wins in each of the last four seasons.

Conegliano play on Saturday

The 11th leg of the regular season begins on Saturday and league leaders Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano will be in action on the first day of matches. The only team undefeated in the country, they will face Firenze at home at 20:30 (19:30 UTC). Earlier, at 19:00 (18:00 UTC), Igor Gorgonzola Novara will host CBF Balducci HR Macerata.

Lega Volley Femminile - Match Schedule & Results

Sunday's schedule will start with Omag and Numia Vero Volley Milano meeting at 16:00 (15:00 UTC) and will have another three encounters held simultaneously to the one involving Bergamo and Cuneo one hour later - Busto Arsizio vs. Bartoccini-MC Restauri Perugia, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76 vs. Monviso and Savino Del Bene Scandicci vs. Vallefoglia.
