Busto and Novara will play on Sunday

Three-time Coppa Italia champions Igor Gorgonzola Novara will play on Sunday, at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT), against Eurotek Uyba Busto Arsizio, who won the title once. Novara are third in the Italian League and are on a six-match winning streak while Busto rank seventh and won six of their last seven duels.

Historically, Novara have been the most successful side when the teams meet, collecting 22 victories in 30 encounters. Busto won their most recent duel, stopping a series of six-straight triumphs from their opponents.

“We’re very excited with the possibility of returning to the Final Four of the Coppa Italia, which hasn’t happened in a while for the club,” said Busto’s middle blocker Benedetta Sartori. “We’re coming from a tough match in Bergamo and are looking forward to bouncing back immediately. We can’t expect this match to play out like the one in the Italian League, where we won 3-0, and we know that getting another win would be a major accomplishment and that to do it, we’ll need to bring our very best.”

Conegliano and Vallefoglia play on Monday

Recently-crowned world champions Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano will only play on Monday, when they face Megabox Ondulati Savio Vallefoglia at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT). The Panthers will try to secure their sixth straight and seventh overall title.

Undefeated in the Italian League, Conegliano are at the top of the standings, while Vallefgolia are eighth. The defending champions have never lost to their rivals, having won all seven duels between the teams so far.

“We’ve bene incredibly busy since we returned from China, but I believe the excitement for the world title will help us perform well against Vallefoglia,” Conegliano’s outside hitter Khalia Lanier reacted. “They are capable of creating problems to any opponent, but we are confident the energy at the Palaverde will give us the boost we need to advance to the Final Four, which is our goal.”
